How can you clean a rusty iron pot?
I have an iron pot which is covered with rust. what is the best way to clean the rust and restore the pot?
Scrub the pot with a scotch bright pad (do not use steal wool the steal wool will leave fibers that stay in-bedded in the pot and get into your food and will promote more rust in the micro pits it creates), rinse, dry thoroughly. After completely dry rub with lard (not veg oil) inside and out it is cheep and doesn't create a sticky residue like oil. Place foil on the lower rack of the oven with edges folded up to catch the drippings. Bake the pot at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. This will seal the iron. Wash with mild soap and hot water. Repeat as needed or cook bacon in it from time to time to restore seal.

Adirondack Chairs

At his workshop in New York, on the edge of Lake Champlain, Thomas Lee nailed boards together in various fashions as his 22-member family sampled each design. The favorite was chosen, a chair with a slanted back and seat and spacious armrests. He took his plans to the town carpenter who loved the idea and set to work making a patent for today's Adirondack chair. Now, 100 years later, there is no replacement for the feel of sinking back into these seats.
Wrought Iron or Aluminum
For long lasting, low maintenance furniture, you may want to choose a metal chair set. Most of today's brands are fully welded, giving you extreme durability in almost any shape or color. Wrought iron and aluminum will not rust and both are able to resist any weather conditions. If you prefer a softer chair, you may want to look into a metal frame with quick drying textilene fabric seats, a perfect fit for your poolside.
With or Without Cushions
The decision to add cushions to your patio chairs has the obvious benefit of great comfort even outdoors. The availability of an entire palate of colors creates the possibility of matching almost any decorating style. You can go with thin or thick and nearly any softness you desire. Modern outdoor cushions can typically be sprayed down with water for easier cleaning and have the added benefit of drying quickly. Although you will pay more, you will experience more comfort when lounging in your backyard. Look into picking up a warranty or some covers for the cushions since they will be susceptible to fading as well as wear and tear, just from being outside all day.
