Heather and her friends take a taxi to Pink Floyd concert.The taxi meter starts at $2.50. Each kilometer driven costs $2.00. Heather pays 31.50. How far did the taxi driven?
What is the equation and formula for this?
Also if I had to create a graph for this how would it be and look?
k = kilometers driven
formula: total = start plus (price per km times number of km)
31.50 = 2.50 + 2k
The graph is a ray starting at (0, 2.50) and going up 2 over 1 from there
