Series Dry
I have a Kenmore Gas Dryer, 90 Series that works but won't heat. Any ideas of what I could do?
You can fix it yourself. First make sure that 220 power is at the plug in using a voltage tester.. Check both prongs to the middle one which is ground. You should get 110 to ground and across each one and 220 across the two If not you have a defective circuit breaker.
Lets assume that the 220 is there.
Unplug first from 220, Then remove the backside. In there you will find a control relay and two heating elements One or both of those are clean broken off -----burned clean separated.
Remove one of those , it should have 2 small screws attaching it. Take it to an appliance parts store and get a new one for about $18.
