Japanese mythology? What is the large, white triangle headband?

I recall seeing images of some sort of Japanese ghost (I believe) that wears a large white triangle on it's forehead. Can anyone tell me what does this, what the triangle signifies, etc?

It's part of a stylized costume and appearance that signals, in theater and in art, that "this character is a ghost." Sort of the way pale skin, sunken eyes and wearing all black have come to signal "this character is a vampire" in modern movies and TV shows.

If you want to level fast in Maplestroy, I think you should find some right areas to level up when you reach some level. I collect some trainiong areas for Maplestory white knights. Maybe they are suitable for other character.

Training Area Level 10 - 22
From level 10 - 22 I recommend fighting slimes to level up, and there is a map in elinia with a large number of slimes and the map is long and narrow for quick and easy kills.

Training Area Level 23 - 26
From level 23 - 26 the mushrooms in Zipangu: Mushroom Forest. There are quite a bit of platforms here full of orange and green mushrooms, and if you're strong enough the blue mushrooms on the two platforms closest to the top of the map would be a good training choice too.

Training Area Level 27 - 35
From level 27 - 35 the Ghost Stumps, Wooden Masks, and Rocky Masks in the Perion Excavation site. There are 3 maps for you to train on, so it shouldn't be too difficult to find a spot.

Training Area Level 36 -44
Level 36 - 44 the Sakura Cellions in Amoria or the Jr.Grupins and Jr.Lioners in Orbis. Sakura Cellion, Jr.Grupins, and Jr.Lioners are large in numbers in these maps and there is a fast spawn for quick and easy EXP.

I believe these areas are also right for Maplestory powerleveling. At here, they can earn more exp and MS mesos.

Training Area Level 46 - 60
Level 45 - 60 Straw Practice Dummies from Mu Lung would be excellent and this is the one place where mobbing skills become extremely useful. There is a fast spawn here and there are lots of Straw target Dummies too.

Training Area Level 61 - 70
Level 61 - 70 Gryphons in Masteria would be a great training choice. Gryphons are large in numbers, spawn quickly and the map is big. The only bad thing is that there is a pit that you might fall into and if you do you will be sent back to the previous map.

Training Area Level 71 - 82
Level 71 - 82 Voodoos and Hoodoos from the Haunted House make the best training choice for not only White Knights, but any other class around this level. The map is small and enclosed and there is a quick spawn, but the only bad thing is trying to find a free channel, as this area is always packed with other maplers trying to train.

Training Area Level 83 - 100
Level 83 - 100 Dual Ghost Pirates in Ludibrium. The bad thing about the map here though is that occasionally many hacking Dragon Knights come and steal the map from White Knights trying to train and many times the hacker will leave their Dragon Knights there to steal EXP for hours on end, and so sometimes trying to train here can be difficult.

Training Area Level 101 - 110
Level 101 - 110 Grim Phantom Watches in Ludibrium. The thing about this map is that it's very large, and so the Grim Phantom watches are spread out on multiple platforms and this makes it very time consuming for a White Knight to walk around and kill Grims. But, nonetheless, Grim Phantom Watches provide good EXP.

Training Area Level 111 - 120
From Level 111 - 120 Blue Wyverns in Leafre. The map is small and there is a relatively fast spawn for Wyverns here. Although pot costly, Blue Wyverns make the best solo training choice for White Knights around this level. A bad thing about the map though is that there is a pit you can fall into at the bottom of the map and if you do you'll be sent to the previous map.

Training Area Level 121+
Training from this point really depends on the skills you've obtained in your 4th job. If you have Divine or Holy Charge, wait for about 4 levels on it while putting skill points on it, and when you're done waiting those 4 levels you can go and solo himes or you can train with a priest. Depending on your strength, you can also try to fight skelesaurus or skelegons too using your Divine or Holy Charge.
