Is it possible to give a white cake mix a vanilla flavor?
I need to make a vanilla cake with vanilla frosting. Where I went, they had a yellow cake mix and a white cake mix. The person I'm making the cake for said she prefered the white cake mix but I know that she is picky and likes vanilla. Is it ok to add a little vanilla to the cake mix? If so, about how much?

The addition of vanilla should work fine, but be sure to put it in the measure cup *before* you add the water to measure. That way you don't throw off the amount of liquid required. Also, if you're starting with the white mix, then try to use clear vanilla to keep the cake looking white. You can get clear vanilla is most crafts stores but a few markets carry it as well.
